These are the top 7 assumptions, presumptions and stereotypes that are fully embraced by most of us about health and aging.
We buy into them and therefore they become self-fulfilling false prophecies.
The Hope. The Truth. The Reality.
I believed all of these myths many years ago.
I believed them because I received the superficial characterizations of aging from the media and observed the decline in people who had also bought into it.
Because they bought into it, they didn’t do anything about it to their ultimate demise.
But then I faced my own olderhood, and at the time, I wasn’t in the best of shape.
Then the miracle happened.
The Power of Knowledge
The miracle was simple: I put in the effort to learn the truth.
I came across the new crop of medical experts, doctors and researchers.
Those who are identifying the best health practices for all ages and those who focus on health in our olderhood.
These are highly qualified pros who only make determinations based on legitimate data and research. Oh…and common sense that is all too uncommon.
Their “new” approach is not only smart, but in many ways it’s the ancient approach.
What, through the hundreds of thousands of years that humans have been around, makes us healthy and optimizes our bodies versus those things in the modern-day lifestyle that are killing us?
How do we avoid the need for drugs, procedures and therapies by living, exercising and eating in ways that boost our body rather than kill it?
How do we mitigate the consequences of aging?
The answers are amazing
By applying what I learned, I am now healthier and more active than I was 15 years ago.
For me, I reversed my age.
Each one of those 7 aging health myths I listed at the top of this story was shot down like ducks in a carnival shooting gallery.
