What You Have To Realize To Transform Your Life Into Something You Love
This is how I realized my perfect New Way Forward in life
“Is this It? Is this all there is to life?
“There’s just got to be something more for me and my life.”
At this moment years ago, I didn’t know whether to cry, go into a fetal position in the closet or grab a hammer and smash something.
I was in the big “Now What? situation.
My sons were off to college, and I knew they were not going to move back home and instead explore the world which is exactly what they did.
I was tired of my corporate content creation business which, although successful, I never should have pursued.
It wasn’t aligned with who I am and what I need.
I was approaching the final big phase of life. I believed down to the depths of my soul that there was something more in life for me and more out of me for life.
All of this led me back to “Now What?”
Is any of this familiar to you?
Same old approach, same old results
I started trying to “figure it out” by the same methods we all use. Making lists of skills, potential forms of income, what I’d like my life to be like, etc.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that BUT…
…I was doing it with the same thinking that got me into this situation in the first place.
New approach, new and better results
I realized I needed to approach things differently, think differently and look at my life and life itself differently.
I needed to step back, reevaluate and reimagine. I needed to be honest with myself.
I needed an alarm to go off in my head every time I used old thinking and or old/untrue self-limiting beliefs.
This is when I realized it was time to take time to start realizing.
Realizing what I wanted, needed and what was possible so I could realize a new way forward that was ideal…nay…perfect for me.
What I realized
From my journal, here’s my list of truths, aspirations, needs and wants I realized back then.
I realize I have a lot to be grateful for right now and throughout my life. But I want more.
I realize I have so much more to offer.
I realize I deserve so much more from life.
I realize I have been feeling this my ENTIRE LIFE.
I realize the only thing keeping me from this is me.
I realized I must address this, act on it and fully engage and succeed.
I realize my “life” depends on it.
I realized now was the time (no time like the present) and if I don’t do it now I may never do it.
I realized time is running out.
I realize being older is the BEST time to do this. I know so much more about myself, life and the world.
I realize I am ready for this (maybe I wasn’t ready before).
I realize I am at my best and getting better.
I realized I have a lot to offer. I can make a difference. I can thrive in something new that is aligned with me, and I am passionate about.
I realize there is something perfect for me. Maybe several things.
I realize that if I was put on earth for a reason, what I come up with might be it.
I realize I can do this.
I realize that if I have something I am passionate about that is true to me, my passion will give me the motivation to do what I need to do.
I realize to do this and enjoy it I need to improve my health and maintain it.
I realize I want to die young at an old age.
I realized that yes, it’s all going to be hard to do. But it would be harder to not do it. I’m picking the “hard” that has a high return on investment.
I realized that if I didn’t do it, I would die with regret that I didn’t (a lot of people do).
If I could survive and even thrive despite self-inflicted problems, I could flip it and mega-thrive with self-inflicted blessings.
It worked beyond expectations
From those realizations, I moved forward in a way that gave me my New Way Forward.
I realized I wasn’t saying, “I gotta figure out what I’m going to do with my life,” I was actually figuring it out and in the best way possible.
I realized I wasn’t figuring out what I was going to do. I was first figuring out what I needed to do to find the “what” that was perfect for me by first identifying my why.
I realized I was getting excited. I was feeling good. More than hopeful I was confident.
Now I realize this was the greatest thing I could have done for myself, and I am so grateful.
I realized I needed to share this.
I hope you realize this process is the starting point to realize the future you want and need to get more from life and yourself.
As someone you know as a longtime career coach, I respect every bit of advice and support you provide, and I gladly share it with my followers. I am old enough to testify that I have experienced what you share, and I know it works. I'm so glad you found your "New Way Forward" and are now helping so many others find their way as well.
